The Spine, the new northern home for the Royal College of Physicians (RCP), has been designed to achieve WELL Platinum Standard. It is on track to be one of the healthiest workspaces for mental health and wellbeing in the UK, as well as BREEAM Excellent (shell and core) and BREEAM Outstanding (RCP fit-out). The £35m development delivers 151,000 sq ft of office, education and conference space that supports the client’s brief to attract and retain a highly skilled workforce. The unique layout and design uses biophilic design principles, with strong connections to nature established throughout the building, reducing stress and increasing productivity.
