Created for Lisbon-based electronics company Worten, the space prioritises wellness and connectivity – and even welcomes family and friends.

Prioritising sustainability, wellness and connectivity, Worten’s newly designed workspace offers a reimagined experience for the 1200-strong team based at the World Trade Center in Lisbon.
The Portuguese capital has long been touted for its progressive social values, and it was these liberal ideals that Jump Studios was keen to integrate – with the goal of engineering a satisfied workforce and cultivating an aspirational corporate culture. “We know that a happier, better-connected workforce is a more productive workforce,” says Shaun Fernandes, founder and senior principle of the practice, on prioritising ‘communication’ and collaboration areas, which benefit more than the employees. Guests, family and friends can also enjoy relaxation and decompression spaces, as well as a restaurant and rooftop terrace.
In a move that rids the space of single-desk cubicles, Jump Studios added hybrid working facilities in the form of hot-desks, individual booths and meeting rooms – all bookable through the bespoke MyWorten app, which also offers access to specific parts of the building and even parcel notifications. Clearly defined zones separate areas with high levels of traffic from those intended for concentration.
As well as maximising the spectacular city views, the office was reconfigured so that larger spaces – including a 50+ capacity boardroom – face natural light. This continues to the top floor where a penthouse-cum-auditorium serves as a flexible presentation space. Here, bespoke modular furniture elements can be built into auditorium seating or broken down to create an easygoing layout for workshops.
“We are in the process of conducting employee satisfaction surveys, and the preliminary results show an incredibly positive response,” comments Mário Costa, Head of Store Concept and Sustainability at Worten. “Our staff like the look and feel of the space, the different possibilities for ways of working; the acoustics, the food and drink options and the view – it’s been a huge upgrade.”
Jump Studios sourced materials from local suppliers to minimise the project’s carbon emissions and mounted solar panels onto the roof. Integrated AI software diminishes excess energy by controlling lighting, humidity and air quality inside – for a project intended to create happy people and a healthier city.
