Vitra announces Vitra Summit 2020

Vitra has announced that its first Digital Summit will take place on 22 and 23 October 2020.

The Vitra Summit will run over two days and provide a global platform for conversations, workshops and office spaces featuring new concepts, solutions and products to support successful navigation through the ‘new normal’.

‘Our perception of space has changed dramatically during the global pandemic and shared environments have become the focus of complex debates about safety,’ Vitra reasons. ‘The workplace needs to be reimagined to meet health and productivity challenges, and public spaces must be adapted to offer increased protection to those most at risk. At the same time, with more people than ever now working from home, our domestic spaces must be reconceived as multi-purpose zones.

‘This means nothing less than the total redesign of our communal experiences and has far reaching implications for our global society. Scientific thinking will be integrated into design like never before, and spaces will need to adapt to meet the demands of new technologies. But amongst all this innovation, the societal and individual wellbeing of the people these spaces are designed to serve will remain paramount.’

The summit will draw on Vitra’s expertise in the design of shared spaces, as well as inviting industry experts, designers, architects and scientists to share their latest thinking. This fully digital event will extend the format of the WORK Summit announced earlier this year to include solutions for the future of the home, office and public realm.
