Designed by Woods Bagot, The International is a multi-venue dining destination set within a prominent mid-century modern precinct in Sydney. Positioned between notable architectural landmarks, the project draws inspiration from its surroundings while offering three distinct hospitality spaces under one roof. The design prioritises sustainability, with waste-minimisation strategies such as using standard-sized materials and repurposing broken tiles through u2018crazy paving’ techniques. The upper level incorporates lush landscaping that enhances environmental performance by regulating temperature, improving air quality, and reducing noise. Local artists were commissioned to create bespoke works, reinforcing a sense of place within this globally influenced, culturally embedded venue.
