The transformation of existing amenity provision at Bailey Fields Purpose Built Student Accommodation scheme in Sheffield for Now Student Living fostering a ‘home from home’ for an international community. Informed by student feedback, a comprehensive reconfiguration of underutilised spaces was undertaken to increase and enhance the amenity provision, providing additional private dining, gym, and workout studios. Elevating the student experience further, a new- build element and roof-top terrace was provided to accommodate Mahjong and Karaoke spaces and provide panoramic views across Sheffield to the Peak District beyond. The project’s vision was to establish an identity for each area and activity, but united by a common purpose of providing a vibrant, supportive, and appealing experience. Using familiar yet subtly integrated world cultural and local references throughout, the intention was to facilitate connectivity, inclusivity, and wellbeing among its residents.
