BT set out to create a new Hub in Birmingham that is identifiably BT, whilst reflecting the local values, cultures and ways of working. The workspace needed to promote inclusivity and belonging to bring out the best in their people and create a real sense of community as ‘one BT’.
BT allowed the design team to challenge the boundaries of the brief, creating a bold and unique design narrative. The concept takes BT’s well-known brand and situates it in the local context, with subtle references to the Birmingham’s railway industry, canal networks and jewelry quarter, building a strong design narrative and sense of identity.
An inclusive design approach was key in responding to the BT design aspirations, engaging and testing spaces with the BT diversity and accessibility networks.
The new hub is future fit, with a variety of collaborative settings and meeting spaces with integrated technology to help influence a positive change in behaviors and enhance the hybrid work experience.
