Transitioning from a compartmentalised workspace, the Burford Capital team faced challenges as their previous environment created silos, hindering connectivity. The vision for their new London headquarters prioritised unity, emphasising flexible space usage to foster seamless collaboration across functions. The Bon Collective proposed a unique hospitality-focused ‘client hub’ with panoramic views of St. Paul’s Cathedral, featuring a self-service refresh zone and working lounge, and two bespoke meeting spaces.
The meeting hub, on the opposite side of the lift lobby, serves as a central collaboration space for both internal and external facing meetings. At the heart of the floorplate is the the ‘Hive’, a terrazzo-clad kitchen and multi-functional breakout area. At the eastern point of the floorplate there is a quiet working zone for individual focused work without disruption and employee wellbeing. The inclusion of a multifunctional wellness room underscores Burford Capital’s dedication to prioritising employee well-being. This multifunctional space is designed to promote physical and mental health, offering a sanctuary for relaxation, meditation, and nursing for new mothers. The design creates a holistic environment, incorporating dedicated areas for focus, collaboration, and socialisation, reinforcing the team’s commitment to a connected workplace.
