DoubleTree by Hilton Rome Monti evokes the lushness of a small oases – where guests can immerse themselves in the light of the Eternal City. The main façade of the historic building overlooks the Piazza Esquilino, on the corner with Via Urbana. The hotel is housed within two buildings that were once connected, one of which was the Commodore Hotel and the other the headquarters of Reale Immobili. The Intervention is not a renovation then, but instead an adaptive reuse. Only the structures and façades have been preserved, but all of the internal partitions have been planned in collaboration with THDP to house the DoubleTree and satisfy operator HNH Hospitality’s request to create a dynamic, contemporary space.
