For the new Crafted Textures floors – Dunham, Marbury and Sheringham – Ted Todd developed a process that emulates the look of ageing. These wooden floors have been intentionally sawn, heavily brushed, and then burnt – a unique process, similar to Yakisugi, that authentically ages each board, creating a timeworn look full of personality and charm.
Working with a natural material like wood means that the development team at Ted Todd often come across imperfections such as knots, sap and irregular grain, which are celebrated in these characterful new floors. Tedd Todd only uses suppliers who can prove the origin of their timber and who follow the UK Timber Regulations as standard.
