spacelab_ – Moore Kingston Smith, London

Moore Kingston Smith’ Appold Street home is all about people’s experiences. A place that their staff and clients want to come to and where they can feel the culture and spirit of the firm.  

Building upon Moore Kingston Smith’ roots in the City of London and their connection with the trade livery companies, the design is focused around an intervention in the space; referencing the 7 gates of London, an enclosure wraps around the building with seven openings which help with orientation and circulation. The ‘gates’ also create a sense of arrival into key spaces; such as the main meeting suite and flexible social hub. The workspace is divided into three main neighbourhoods – each straddles a shared collaboration space to provide opportunities to bring people together. The space looks like an extension of the Moore Kingston Smith brand and personality.
