Rezign is an innovative veneer made of textile waste, such as old denim, army clothing, suits, and white denim, as well as biobased fibres like flax, hemp, and jute coffee bags. The fibres are shredded into small pieces before being carded into felt, which is eventually pressed with a biodegradable binder to make a hard veneer. The result is a versatile, stylishly different finish which sets the bar for sustainability.
With Rezign, PLANQ’s aim is to remove as much textile waste as possible from landfill through a unique circular process, demonstrating to other creators what it can mean to bridge the gap between design and environmental consciousness. Rezign lends itself to interior products and finishes for the built environment.
