Oktra – Entain, London

Mix Awards 24: Project of the Year – Workplace 5-15k

Project Team

  • Forbo, Bolon, Tarkett, Milliken, Carters Flooring, Planteria Group, Entain

Text provided by Oktra

Oktra’s project with Entain in London’s Charterhouse Square blurs the line between a traditional office and a dynamic sports venue to create a workplace brimming with moments of excitement. By drawing on inspiration from the architectural nuances of sporting arenas, where rich and immersive experiences occur, the design encapsulates the essence of Entain’s connection to sport, incorporating those key elements into the project from the ‘Players Tunnel’ through to the ‘The Experience Zone.’ Additionally, the strategic reuse and adaption of the existing fit out, which was at the centre of Oktra’s design approach, led to significant cost savings which were invested back into the scheme to elevate and push the boundaries of workplace design, while also supporting Entain’s prominent ESG strategy.

Furniture selection was guided by principles of sustainability and functionality. By reusing the existing lounge and meeting furniture, we not only preserved the environmental resources but also infused the space with a sense of continuity from the Ennovate Lab. A unique design element was the integration of a hydroponic farm, which brings nature indoors. This offers employees a tangible connection to their environment while also promoting wellbeing and sustainability through the opportunity to harvest salad and fresh herbs.
