When it came to creating its new showroom in London’s iconic design district, Clerkenwell, Interface had a clear vision: to establish a space that would bring together customers, colleagues, architects and designers to define the future of flooring – all in an environment that would reflect the company’s commitment to reversing the effects of climate change. Working with Morgan Lovell, Interface has transformed the 2,000 sq. ft premises within a former Victorian artisan tenement block into a unique and flexible design hub, with collaboration, creativity and wellbeing at its heart. Purposeful and distinct zones are all tied together seamlessly in one open-plan environment through a rich yet neutral colour palette complemented by thriving greenery at every turn. Embodying the brand’s environmental ethos, each aspect of the space has been designed with sustainability in mind, with all furniture and materials, including Interface flooring, carefully specified for their positive impact on the planet.
A focal point of the showroom is a bar worktop created using reclaimed wood sourced locally from King’s Cross. The modular bleacher seating is also made from recycled and reclaimed timber, as well as being manufactured by a team who support people from communities who face prejudice and barriers to work. All fabrics and curtains were also chosen from a sustainable material manufacturer, while recycled materials were used alongside premium minerals and quartz in the creation of the Silestone Storewall worktops used in the kitchen.
