Northward Bound is a carbon neutral carpet tile collection designed and manufactured by Milliken. The concept behind it is D/LUX, ‘luxury dematerialised’ or ‘dematerialisation’: using less material to deliver the same (or superior) results. The brief for Milliken’s in-house design team was the mantra to impact the design world but not the world around us.
Northward Bound is the first European collection in Milliken’s D/LUX series, creating a high-performance luxurious carpet that uses less raw materials (thus reducing embodied carbon) with no compromise on aesthetics. The carpet tile collection is made up of three designs: Snow, Glacier and Ice, inspired by the laid-back and understated Scandi aesthetic – a look that has driven several Milliken collections in recent years.
