Milliken’s Down to Earth flooring collection has some distinctive points at its core including how it addresses the needs of large and complex interior spaces, and how the collection’s designs can be used to separate spaces, create different zones and facilitate wayfinding. Down to Earth also supports the creation of calm, restorative spaces that take all the needs of its users into account – particularly those who are neurodiverse.
When creating Down to Earth, Milliken’s designers sought to understand how factors including noise, light, colour and temperature can impact design. The result is a collection that harnesses earth tones, neutral hues and nature motifs to have a calming and restorative effect. The different designs in the collection – from leaves, twigs and more abstract patterns – lend themselves to demarcating different spaces, for different uses. They also help to create a sense of calm, space and freedom, while offering more secluded, nurturing zones.
