Mehrai Design – Boundary Shoreditch, London

Mixology23 Project of the Year: Bar and Leisure

Project Team

  • James McCulloch, founder of Harcourt Inns., Fileturn, Studio Thirty Three, Hill Cross Furniture, Contract Furniture Store, Etsy, Pamono, Vinterior, VNTG, Joseph Berry Interiors, Graham and Greene, Inside Out Contracts, A New Tribe, Into Lighting Ltd, , , Hannah Simpson Studio – Etsy UK, Nigel Owen Store – Etsy UK

The Boundary is a distinct and iconic building in Shoreditch. The owners saw potential to invigorate the fatigued ground floor restaurant and handed Mehrai Design the freedom to re-imagine the space as a new East London food and hospitality destination. The design team restructured the layout, opening spaces, integrating the hotel reception into the main bar, and creating raised seating and dining areas which maximised the original design features of the building.

Mehrai Design’s emphasis on exquisite design detail has resulted in the creation of a sumptuous bar with a private dining area, unique joinery features and an art installation created by the Boundary team. It is a thoughtful and inspiring venue that has quickly established its rightful place in the Shoreditch scene.
