K2 Space – Criteo – Global Transformation Project, New York

Mix Awards 24: Project of the Year – Workplace 15-30k

Project Team

  • Interface, Criteo, Structuretone, K2 Space

Text provided by K2 Space

The objective was to build a space to support Criteo’s fully flexible working model and enhance the experience when teams come together for collaboration and social interaction, whilst also supporting those employees who prefer a regular attendance at the office and require more traditional resources. K2 Space’s redesign of their New York office was responding to Criteo consolidating four floors into a single 20,000 sq ft floorplate, creating a workplace 35% of its original size.

The project coincided with Criteo’s re-brand, allowing K2 Space to integrate the new corporate identity into the design, referencing the new shape vocabulary in key areas such as the cafeteria and reception and immediately immersing visitors in Criteo’s vibrant culture. Alongside economic and social benefits, there were also significant environmental benefits to the new space – LED’s replacing fluorescent bulbs, the extensive use of 2nd-hand furniture and the sourcing of local joinery to reduce carbon emissions. The project also included bespoke features that reflect the company culture, such as the campfire meeting spaces and a curved tea point designed to encourage informal gatherings and collaboration. These elements not only enhance the aesthetic appeal of the office but also promote a sense of identity and cohesion within the workplace.
