Nodding to JDD’s work on Google’s EMEA HQ back in 2010, Bob Rooms was born out of a bespoke collaboration with a client, Edinburgh University. Experiencing issues with their large open-plan office spaces and building restrictions, the university requested freestanding meeting spaces made to a budget and a quality that didn’t exist in the marketplace. Bob Rooms are an extension of the Bob Meeting Dens but with a leap forward in terms of scale, flexibility and acoustics, creating modular, flat pack/pop-up meeting rooms that don’t require structural work and can be relocated, using sustainable timber and fabrics rather than excessive quantities of metal and moulded plastic.
