IVC Commercial – Imperfection

Winner

Mixology22 Product of the Year Finalist: Flooring

IVC Commercial Imperfections carpet flooring

Inspired by the ancient Japanese aesthetic of wabi-sabi, Imperfection explores the idea that beauty is found in the impermanent and incomplete and that by being more accepting of flaws, defects and marks; we can achieve a mindset that finds beauty in the imperfect. A response to demanding and complex times, the collection counters continual pressure to create a mood of open-mindedness and relaxation.

The Imperfection collection uses ECONYL® yarn, a performance nylon that’s made from fishing nets, ghost nets, old carpets and fabric scraps. Rescued from all over the world, this waste is regenerated through a depolymerisation process that ensures the same purity and performance features of virgin nylon. This raw nylon is remade into ECONYL carpet yarn and we turn this into the three designs of Imperfection. The entire collection also comes as standard with our EcoFlexTM Echo acoustic backing. Made with 94% recycled polyester felt, the backing ensures that every part of Imperfection does its part for the environment.
