Home to Yorkshire Housing, The Place is the first zero carbon workspace in Yorkshire built by local developer Citu, with a design concept that placed sustainability, innovation and technology at the forefront. When Yorkshire Housing signed a 10-year lease for 10,000 sq ft of the building last year, commercial interior design firm Ingo Interiors was tasked to create a dynamic space that rebels against the outdated archetype of the office – which no longer serves the needs of its tenants.
Ingo Interiors and Yorkshire Housing both believe in creating sustainable places, hence The Place fights back against traditional open plan office designs. Purposely non-conformative, it sets out to be a blueprint for the ‘future of workspaces’. Each design choice has been carefully designed to create a workspace that is accessible to all, with layout, materials, textures, and furniture chosen to complement physical and neuro diversity.
