Noting that organisations are organisms – endlessly reconfiguring – ID:SR value the culture that binds them by paying attention to the social, creative and career wellbeing of each person within their team.
Now a team of 72 designers, the practice has seen organic and steady growth in the past 12 months, not only in their team, but also in the number of new projects. In 2022-23, ID:SR completed 55 in total, of which around 75% was repeat business including the likes of the BBC – whom they are still working with to create offices that culturally and creatively reflect the broadcaster’s values.
Internally, the practice has appointed their first head of sustainability to help clients consciously navigate design. In the last year ID:SR also launched their practice-wide internal embodied carbon calculator, empowering their project teams to scrutinize what they specify and understand the impact of their decisions.
For its ninth year, ID:SR and Sheppard Robson also ran Green Week, a staff-led initiative that brings together a week of talks and events to help employees improve sustainability practices, expand their thinking, and ensure that staff are fully briefed on the latest standards while remaining inspired to tackle emerging sustainability issues.
