The Reach at Piccadilly is a striking addition to Manchester’s cityscape, combining the energy of its central location with the tranquility of the adjacent Rochdale Canal. Designed by ICA, this ten-story boutique hotel houses 215 guest rooms and luxury suites, complemented by a series of thoughtfully curated public spaces. Inspired by the ingenuity of Manchester’s canal pioneers, the hotel’s design bridges the city’s industrial heritage with its contemporary entrepreneurial spirit. The interiors are a modern homage to Canal side living, enriched by the craftsmanship of narrowboats. Tactile, natural materials – coal, cotton, timber, wool, limestone, and salt – honour the goods that once traversed the Pennines, linking the region’s past to the present with a timeless aesthetic.
