HLW – Kingfisher, London

Mixology23 Project of the Year: Workplace Interiors 15-30k sq ft

Project Team

  • Cushman & Wakefield, Building Services Engineering, Tsunami Axis, Herman Miller OE1 range, Established and Sons Beam tables, Visplay flexible retail system, Vitra, JBH, Oscar Acoustics, Abstracta, Zandur, Interface, Shaw carpets, Apollo glass worktops, 3 Form Flek recycled resin, Solus Terracotta tiles, Radii Partitioning

HLW were appointed to create a flexible and adaptable HQ for Kingfisher to aid staff attraction and retention; A workplace that “earns the commute” in the prestigious Renzo Piano building in the heart of the new Paddington Square development, housing West London’s highest rooftop restaurant, retail and exclusive spaces for tenants including an all-day café, evening bar, co-working space, terraces, and multi-use spaces. Kingfisher plc is an international home improvement company with over 1,500 stores, supported by a team of 80,000 colleagues across Europe. Their retail ‘banners’ each have instantly recognizable brands. HLW worked closely with the client team to create a considered calm design solution relative to the project vision, the end users’ needs and the building. The result is an open, welcoming and ‘honest’ destination with all amenities accessible to Kingfisher’s diverse population, where end-users choose how and where to work in an effective activity-based working environment.
