City Hall sets a new bar for modern workplaces. The project combines a new civic office for Sunderland City Council with private tenants and municipal services, in a truly democratic ‘hall for the city’. The building celebrates the city’s heritage with local craftsmanship and design that is tailored to its context. Throughout the workspaces, rich collaborative settings are designed to encourage agile working and improved services for the community of Sunderland.
Delivered as part of the Riverside Sunderland masterplan for regeneration, the project is a key example of how progressive development will diversify the city centre. City Hall is an outstanding post-covid workplace and a symbol of Sunderland’s ambitions for the future.
