Ekho Studio designed Enso, Colchester a bright, airy and light-filled student amenity space on the ground floor of the existing student accommodation. Incorporating thoughtfully designed communal spaces to encourage social interaction, the amenities needed to promote relaxation and wellbeing as well as offer a sense of balance to residents, with co-working spaces for both individual study and team collaboration sitting alongside lounge and seating areas, a gaming area and a fully equipped gym. The practice endeavoured to create a design that was environmentally low-impact, prioritising materials with strong recycled or recyclable credentials and low-energy manufacture and use.
