Ege Carpets – SHE by Laura Bilde & Linnea Blæhr

Mix Awards 24: Product of the Year – Flooring

Text provided by Ege Carpets

SHE is Ege Carpets’ first WOOL100 designer collection, created by Laura Bilde and Linnea Blæhrand. SHE celebrates female artists in their time not obtaining the recognition they deserved within the textile weaving, sculpture or painting handicrafts. SHE honours women who helped clear the way for future female artists, who, then and now, live and breathe design.

Available as rugs or broadloom carpet, it is a natural embrace of renewable materials, luxurious comfort and uncompromising quality. Crafted from 100% pure wool yarn, which is spun from extra-long fibres, it is as durable as wool/nylon blends, yet improves end of life sustainability with compostable options. Inspired by the preferred techniques of artists from the 1930s and 1940s, each of the six SHE patterns is meticulously crafted by hand to capture the essence of lines drawn, cut, or assembled using physical materials. These designs draw inspiration from different sources, including distinctive weaving techniques, experimental expressionistic shapes, and simple graphic paintings.
