Ege Carpets – Eco Rustic carpet tiles

Winner

Mixology23 Product of the Year: Flooring

Based on the interaction between colours, materials, light and space, textile designer and colour alchemist Margrethe Odgaard developed 56 ever-relevant floor surface colours across Eco Rustic. The palette comprises social colours that complement and lift each other, but also includes individual diva colours that stand out and add vibrant dynamics. You can use these to create infinite combinations in which the colours relate and react differently to each other.

Ege’s 100% regenerated and regenerable yarns are made from nylon waste including old fishing nets, industrial waste and used carpets. On the underside, used plastic bottles are converted into plastic flakes and then into the soft fibres that are part of the PET-felt backing manufacturing process. In addition to being made from recycled products, the felt has the eco-friendly quality of being regenerable. This means that after use, the felt can be broken down and become part of new PET products – for example, vehicle interiors and noise-reducing materials.
