Concorde BGW – Gozney HQ, Bournemouth

Mix Awards 24: Project of the Year – Design and Build

Project Team

  • Gozney Pizza Ovens, Revivalist Furniture, Sykes Joinery, Architile, Gozney, Revivalist

Text provided by Concorde BGW

As a leading supplier and innovator of pizza ovens, naturally Gozney’s new office space had to house a few. Alongside a multitude of desking spaces, meeting pods, private offices, formal and informal meeting rooms and a quiet “think tank”, Concorde BGW housed two of the brand’s ovens in the in-house research and development laboratory. The newly refurbished HQ also boasts a demo kitchen area, a space not only used to showcase ovens to clients but also as a functional TV studio for producing cookery and media content (complete with its own neighbouring green room for onset talent to relax in between takes).

In pursuit of sustainability, Concorde BGW utilised all the existing timber flooring rather than re-specifying with new, as well as retaining areas of the existing brickwork and using LED lighting throughout. Bike racks also formed a key piece of this functional office space, encouraging the Gozney workforce to make green choices when it comes to their daily commute. A state-of-the-art extraction system was introduced to comply with health and safety standards and the regulations for a listed building, as well as navigating the complexities involved with installing a gas supply to the ovens themselves.
