Chapman Taylor’s design for One Arlington Square involved the extensive renovation of an existing, tired office building located at Arlington Square Business Park, Bracknell. The building consists of four storeys of office space that wrap around a central, previously external courtyard that has been covered with a new glazed rooflight and the space transformed into a vibrant, green and modern amenity space for the tenants of the building. The design embodies a strong sense of wellness and relaxation through a careful selection of materials and an array of biophilic elements. The outcome is a bold statement, showcasing a high-quality Grade A office and amenity space that elevates One Arlington Square above its competitors.

Each aspect of the fit-out, whether it is the atrium cafe, the elevated tree-house or the on-floor tea-points, exist as independent structures that could be amended and changed at a future date without interference with the base build services and structure. The sacrifice of poor ground floor office space has allowed for a clear, unhindered, connection through to the new glazed Atrium which now acts as the fulcrum of the building’s activities. The wellbeing of staff is supported through the layout of working and social spaces to encourage movement and flow through the building, facilitating increased interaction, internal/external visibility, and collaboration. The range of agile work settings and social spaces also empowers staff, giving them control over the type of spaces they select to support their work.
