Prompted by the need to accommodate a rapidly growing workforce, rural broadband provider Quickline Communications appointed Chameleon Business Interiors to support its expansion and relocation to Albion Mills in East Yorkshire, utilising the studio’s workplace consultancy, interior design, and fit-out services.
Chameleon incorporated a flexible mix of settings, including cellular and open plan workspaces with considered soundproofing and temperature control, a relaxed mezzanine breakout space styled as ‘The Treehouse’, and an impressive meeting room with a double vaulted ceiling.
The interiors were devised to complement Albion Mills’ original Victorian features. With impressive oak beam roof trusses and exposed brickwork, the space lent itself to a minimalist, sympathetic design which blends industrial and contemporary elements. Following a recent re-brand, Quickline’s brand colours and logo have been carried throughout. This brings a truly bespoke feel to the space, reinforcing company pride in a subtle, yet consistent approach.
Sustainability remained at the forefront of the project, from the use of local companies – most from within the county – to the selection of recycled materials and products with carbon neutral properties.
