CDUK – PaperStone

Mixology22 Product of the Year Finalist: Surfaces

PaperStone® is a new generation sustainable material, made from recycled paper with natural resin, the surface has a unique, textured effect creating an organic warmth, which can be specified in a range of natural hues. Eleven rich, tactile colours across two ranges and a range of thicknesses provide a broad spectrum of surface design solutions. It is ideal for architects and designers looking for a sustainable solution and well suited to interiors across commercial office space, hospitality, retail and residential sectors. Paperstone® provides specifiers the opportunity to reconnect people with the natural world through design, with its tactile warmth and hint of texture it is beautifully unique yet surprisingly tough and incredibly versatile. Its composition delivers high performance across a range of horizontal and vertical applications including bars and tabletops, furniture, vertical decorative wall panels, kitchen worksurfaces and washrooms.

PaperStone® is primarily made from FSC certified recycled paper combined with a patented phenolic resin – PetroFree™. Selected colours are produced from 100% FSC recycled paper and cardboard. Paper and old cardboard boxes are recycled to obtain stacked layers of paper. The paper is saturated with a pigmented, petroleumfree, natural resin and pressed under heat and pressure into a solid sheet.
