Revolution, by global fabric manufacturer Camira, is a recycled wool fabric made from the company’s own waste yarn, marking a new era in wool textile circularity. The first fabric to be created using iinouiio – the textile recycling capability Camira acquired in 2022 – Revolution is a closed loop product, and marks an exciting breakthrough for the company in achieving circularity within its design and manufacturing processes.
Developed by Camira at its manufacturing sites in Yorkshire, Revolution is created during a process which sees its waste wool yarn stripped back into fibre form using state-of-the-art wool recycling machinery. These recycled wool fibres are then blended with virgin wool, before being carded, spun, and woven into fabric. With an irregular twill weave, the fabric has an appealing surface detail and soft touch finish. Available in 10 shades, innovatively developed with the original colouration of the recycled woollen fibres as its base.
