The Detroit campus for WPP by BDG architecture + design is the latest part of WPP’s commitment to restoring old, large industrial buildings in various cities around the world including London, Amsterdam, Madrid, Lisbon, Paris, Warsaw and Prague. In Detroit’s case, the Marquette Building unites creative specialisms such as public relations, branding, media and digital services and advertising from a series of suburban locations. This renovated office building gives staff the chance to experience a variety of inspirational work settings.
During BDG’s renovation the building was re-envisioned, and the core was renewed to reveal much of the original structure. Brick columns, bracings, cast iron fire exit stairways, windows, mosaic and concrete floors were left in place, as well as the building’s original sliding barn doors.
