Centred on inclusivity, sustainability, and wellbeing, Fivefields is a new purpose-built workspace that brings together like-minded charities and social impact organisations working to improve the lives of children and young people. Designed by Barr Gazetas, the project was collaboratively developed by Grosvenor, The Westminster Foundation and x+why with significant artwork collaborations with Artiq.
Behind its Victorian façade lies a modern, purposefully designed space with inclusivity at its core. From accessible navigation to colour choices that cater to neurodiverse needs, every aspect reflects a mindful commitment to equitable experiences. This transformative vision is supported by a bespoke art collection, curated to further champion representation and opportunity.
Fivefields stands as a testament to the power of partnerships in fostering positive impact. United by purpose, developers, surveyors, architects and art consultants have transformed Fivefields into more than just a workspace; it is a beacon of creative collaboration, innovation, and social responsibility. Throughout this development, the reuse of materials has been prioritised, with recycled steel and highly recycled aluminium in the lightwell windows. The building also makes use of Grosvenor timber, manufactured at Grosvenor TimberWorks, a producer of sustainably grown British timber at its facility in Cheshire. Fivefields also features upcycled raised access flooring, pre-loved furniture and outdoor furniture made from recycled ocean plastic and recovered fishing nets.
