5plus Architects has completed British Council’s prestigious new headquarters at the new International Quarter London. The International Quarter London (IQL) is a legacy of the hugely successful 2012 Games creating a new destination for far sighted companies and organisations contributing to a wider place, providing new homes and leisure activities surrounded by open space and parkland.
The project includes an exhibition space on the ground and a large south facing terrace at first floor overlooking the Olympic Park. The building has triple glazed climate wall façades and an exposed concrete frame which required co-ordination on the interface and the floors will be linked by a double height atrium accommodating stairs to two floors.
