Translating to ‘Mother Earth’, Gaia is the latest collection of upholstery fabrics to be added to Skopos’ portfolio. Comprised of 73% recycled polypropylene from recycled textiles, and 27% recycled polyester from post-consumer waste, Gaia offers a sustainable hardwearing solution and supports ambitions for environmentally-conscious interior textiles.

A soft and textured upholstery, Gaia presents a muted and earthy palette of boucle featuring 21 fabrics with dapples of tones to give a grainy and organic wool-like appearance to the quality. On the underside is a halogen-free backing made of Crib 5 cotton for full-flame retardancy.

Gaia performs to 50,000 Martindale rubs making it a suitable material for hospitality and leisure interiors, and one that meets the standard set for severe contract use on commercial furniture. Gaia also meets IMO requirements and carries the MED Wheelmark, confirming suitability for marine interior environments, including cruises.

Supporting Skopos’ goal to be carbon neutral by the end of 2023, Gaia is one of many new Skopos collections that revolves around sustainability and positive environmental footsteps: Rethink, Renew, Reuse.
