Skopos celebrate a milestone with 50th Anniversary Collection
Skopos marks 50 years with two new landmark designs launched each month in 2022 – reborn using contemporary design production techniques.
The early 70s saw the birth of a new textile business in the Yorkshire town of Batley, as three local art college students came together to create printed fabrics for healthcare and hospitality interiors, developed and printed in Yorkshire. Influenced by graphics seen in Greek patterns and environments, Skopos derives from the Greek word for ‘purpose.’
To celebrate a landmark 50th Anniversary, Skopos are launching two new designs each month within their Anniversary collection. The designs will be offered in two colourways across the full selection of Skopos base-cloths, all developed to meet the demands of contract interiors. Designs developed and produced over the last five decades have been rethought, amended and produced in-line with modern-day trends for contract interiors.
July 2022 designs
The base-cloths include fabrics for contract upholstery, drapery and bedding, with velvet upholstery qualities, impervious and antimicrobial upholstery, blackouts, dimout and linen-looks; all flame retardant, in-line with standards set for contract environments, thereby creating perfect finishing touches for hotels, cruise-ships, leisure and other contract environments. Each month these ‘new’ designs will be brought to life on the Skopos website, with free samples available on the designs launched so far from January to July.
As with all Skopos prints, customers will be able to order the ‘Anniversary’ designs across a number of base-cloths, including upholstery velvets and various drape qualities for use in any project. For bespoke colourways, the Skopos design team will be able to help.
