Pedrali channels ‘la dolce vita’ with Philía

Inspired by 1960s Italian garden furniture, Pedrali’s new outdoor seating collection blends geometric lines with softer forms for a relaxed, nostalgic feel.

Unveiled at Salone del Mobile 2024, Pedrali’s latest furniture collection is the work of industrial designer Odo Fioravanti. Reminiscent of traditional Italian garden chairs, the range of outdoor seating – called Philía – is designed to recall a relaxed European lifestyle led in open air, typical of the ‘dolce vita’ of the 1960s. Comprised of a side chair and armchair, the Philía collection is defined by rational and geometric lines that blend with softer forms typical of the human body. The hand-made weave also brings additional softness and comfort to the seat, as well as giving each piece a tailor-made feel.

Philía chairs are characterised by their resistant steel tubular frame (featuring a powder coated finish designed for outdoor use), while the seat and backrest are woven and wrapped in a textured, lined PVC cord, which – thanks to horizontal direction weaving – intersects at the centre to ensure maximum elasticity and high resistance. As for aesthetics, both the frame and weave are available in either one colour or two tones, and consist of warm, organic shades that blend easily into natural landscapes: green, terracotta, brown, honey and beige.
