Inspired by Orgatec 2024, we spotlight five function-focused office products designed by the industry’s biggest brands and future luminaries. From sleek, adjustable mini tables to ergonomic minimalism, these designs place priority on health, posture and comfort – proving you don’t have to sacrifice style for substance.

Profim by Flokk – Snap

Part of the Flokk group, Profim have developed Snap; a new for 2024 armchair designed for collaboration and comfort. Created in collaboration with the Scandinavian Note Design Studio, the team have considered the adverse implications of sitting for prolonged periods, developing a supportive seating solution infused with time-honoured design prompts. This latest release blends aesthetics, functionality and sustainability to make a product suitable for a multitude of office environments.

Humanscale – Float Gather, Mini & Micro

Humanscale developed Float Gather height adjustable tables to bring people together, the product ensuring easy modification to the individual’s comfort level, creating flexible spaces for inclusive collaboration. Modified without the use of electricity, the Float Micro & Mini are desk solutions for lower seating and serve as versatile additions to offices, meeting rooms and social spaces. Designed specifically for laptop use, its slender, compact design goes from sofa to desk level and can be stowed or transformed into a side table when not in use.

NARBUTAS – SANDIE

Introducing SANDIE by NARBUTAS, a collection of elegant chairs and lounge furniture designed to convert modern offices into inviting and comfortable spaces. Comprising of high-back executive chairs, medium-back task chairs and low-back meeting chairs, the collection also includes two types of lounge chairs with high and low backrests. Alongside the ample selection of back support types, detachable upholstery offers cocoon-like comfort and can be easily adapted to a variety of office spaces.

Casala – Kabanna Workpod

Kabanna introduces an ergonomic room-in-room solution for open plan office spaces. Produced for both virtual and in-person meetings, the angular design is not only visually appealing but has a semi-transparent materiality thanks to narrowly spaced timber slats, providing a sense of privacy whilst maintaining openness. The upholstered hood improves the acoustics of workplaces with high ceilings and ensure that conversations remain discreet and natural sounding.

Kusch & Co – Bound by Karim Rashid

On behalf of Kusch & Co, designer Karim Rashid has developed the Bound soft seating collection, which comprises an armchair, sofa and table, all benefitting from ergonomically enhanced design. Using cubic forms as a starting point, Rashid softened harsh edges at precise angles to accommodate the user’s body, creating a comfortable furniture selection for breakout spaces and other informal workplace areas. Eradicating the need for any unnecessary features, the reductive character of the collection comes in a range of colourways to inject liveliness into recreational zones.
