Dry Lay Ceramic Flooring by TierGlobal

Mixology North21 Awards Finalist – Product of the Year: Flooring

09/11/2021 1 min read

TierGlobal Dry Lay Ceramic Flooring is a UK innovation that allows for ceramic tile to install on a concrete or raised access flooring without any grout, dry time or mess.  A job that would typically take 2 days including drying can now be done in a matter of hours with no down time to the space.

Developed out of the necessity to install a lobby of ceramic flooring over a weekend in an occupied space, the tile itself is altered by installing a rubber backing (and a magnet if going over raised access floor) and then a ‘grout groove’ is created by putting an edging around the tile.  This critically meant install could take a few hours rather than a few days and it can be accomplished by a standard carpet tile fitter rather than a ceramic specialist. There is no mess, no dry time and the space is back in occupation. This critically means that if one tile in a space is damaged, the whole floor doesn’t need replacement. One tile can easily be lifted out with a glass suction cup and replaced.
