It’s been an exciting, record-breaking year for Tarkett. In one of the most turbulent years in living memory, the business has been recognised as a pioneer on several fronts.
It was named the flooring category’s global sustainability leader by EcoVadis and became the only flooring manufacturer with the capability to recycle post-use homogeneous vinyl.
Tarkett launched its ambitious 2030 Climate Roadmap targets, in alignment with The Paris Climate Agreement. And 84% of its own employees ‘strongly agreed’ that their unit was focussed on improving its own environmental impact.
During the past year, Tarkett has continued to improve its processes and products to lessen its environmental impact with a number of flagship recycling initiatives.
In the UK, Tarkett has developed its own recycling facility which is launching in May 2022. Once operational, Tarkett will be the only UK manufacturer to offer safety floor recycling in the country saving 615 tonnes of CO2 / year in materials and 21,000kg of CO2 in transportation by halving the number of truck road trips in a year.
